Men's Short Wavy Haircut With Textured Quiff & Tapered Sides
Natural waves, real height on top and a shape that looks as good from the side as it does from the front. Sergio Slavnov cut this one at his Hell’s Kitchen studio for a client who wanted a short cut that still has movement and personality.
Sergio left generous length on top and cut it in layers so the natural wave could do the work. The front lifts up and slightly back into a soft, loose quiff, while the pieces behind it twist and fall in different directions. The sides were tapered with scissors, kept tight around the ears but never shaved, so the step from the full top to the cleaner sides looks smooth instead of harsh. Weight came out of the crown to stop the hair from puffing out, and the hairline was left soft to frame the face. It works with a suit, a T-shirt and everything in between.
Men’s wavy hair needs a different approach than straight hair, and leaving the length for the wave to work with is most of it.
